UK Clinical Director at LIVI

 You will play a key role leading the standards and culture of our clinical workforce ensuring LIVI continues to provide high quality care to our patients as we expand our presence in the UK both at a local and national level. You will help shape the future approach to and be responsible for compliant and sound medical practice at LIVI in the UK, ensuring LIVI patients receive safe, effective and expedient high quality care. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient and effective clinical processes, protocols and guidelines. This role also requires the ability to work collaboratively and build strong trusting relationships with other parts of the business such as operations , product, commercial and marketing.  You will play a key part in continuing to develop and maintain a working environment and culture of trust, openness and effective team working within the clinical team and as it interacts with other parts of the business.

What you’ll do

Strategic:

  • Leading data driven design, development and implementation of new clinical processes, protocols and guidelines ensuring they are effective, scalable and efficient  
  • Design and lead GP engagement programme based on needs identified further developing a culture of openness, team spirit and shared learning with our clinical workforce.
  • Develop an innovative and forward thinking service that recognises the significance of LIVI working within a competitive environment and identify opportunities for future growth
  • Maximise opportunities for service development and improvement, ensuring the existence of a culture of continuous improvement and high quality patient care within the structure of LIVI
  • Work with other parts of the business as necessary to accomplish objectives 

Leading daily clinical operations:

  • Working with the lead GP, responsible for generating, collating and interpreting data to monitor the quality and effectiveness of care for LIVI and its partners, acting on findings to ensure performance against plans and agreed metrics.  
  • Responsible for reporting of clinical effectiveness metrics with admin/lead GP support and using this data to make recommendations for the optimisation of the services we offer.
  • Maintaining the clinical foundation of the business by ensuring clinical practices keep pace with business developments. This involves maintaining and creating up to date policies, procedures and guidelines and creating new ones based on current best evidence.
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines, protocols, legislation and regulation
  • Leading a programme of engagement that develops close, positive relationships with our clinical workforce to support high quality care, a culture of learning and a great experience of working with LIVI
  • Clinical line manager for remote GPs.  This will involve feeding back and responding to workforce issues as well as conducting GP performance reviews, 1-1s and identifying development needs and implementing personal development plans as necessary
  • Handling NICE/MHRA safety alerts and cascading appropriately
  • Responding to clinical incidents and significant events
  • Monitoring and maintaining the service including carrying out auditing, signing scripts, giving clinical input to GPs working in the service, and other daily clinical tasks, alongside the Lead GP
  • Working in the service as necessary
  • Other duties as may be agreed with the Medical Director
  • Inputting into other areas of the business as necessary

 Who you are

Qualifications and experience

  • General Practitioner (GMC registered) with at least 3 years experience working in UK primary care
  • Experience as GP trainer or appraiser desirable
  • Experience of previous Clinical Director roles and digital healthcare an advantage
  • Experience of leadership positions - building, leading and developing high performing teams

Knowledge and understanding

  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance and effective systems of medical management such as job planning, appraisal and clinical assessment
  • An understanding of medical recruitment and training matters
  • Awareness of and understanding of delivering digital healthcare an advantage
  • Has a good appreciation and understanding of the wider field of information systems (such as different EMRs) and how to effectively use them in relevant areas necessary to carry out daily work

  • Focused on delivering objectives and improvements to patient services
  • Attention to detail and quality, interest in practicing according to latest evidence base
  • Developed interpersonal skills with an understanding of diversity in cultures and perspectives
  • Communicates fluently verbally and in writing, and can present complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and with colleagues within and external to LIVI
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to execute effectively individually and through a team
  • Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets and in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures
  • Confident balancing operational, commercial and clinical aspects in healthcare and firm decision-making
  • Understands other functional perspectives eg. Operations, HR, Marketing, Product
  • A fearless can-do attitude with a drive towards execution
  • Is a self-starter and takes some responsibility for personal development
  • Is able to adapt and excited to be working in a fast moving and high pace organisation

You will be a key member of the UK Clinical team and report to the UK Medical Director. The role is based in our London office;  some international travel required. We offer an attractive compensation package including equity-based incentives, and employment benefits.
