KRY acquires the psychology app Enjo
KRY has acquired the company Hello Shim, who developed the psychology-apps Enjo and Shim - two chatbots for mental well being. Enjo has been recommended by Apple in the App Store in more than 10 countries, including being "App of the Day" in the UK. With the acquisition, KRY's first, KRY strengthens its market-leading position to fast forward the future of healthcare in Europe.
“The future of healthcare is personal and personalised. Therefore, we are now strengthening our team with leading excellence in the development of personal technology that helps the patient to take care of their own health”- Johannes Schildt, KRY's CEO & Co-founder
The app Enjo is an empathetic chatbot that through a personalised conversation helps the user to take care of their mental wellbeing. Enjo has been recommended by Apple in the App Store in 10 countries and has been selected as "App of the day" in the UK App Store.
Hoa Ly, the CEO, and founder of Hello Shim, defended his Ph.D. in 2015 - the world's first doctoral thesis on smartphone support in depression treatment. A study on Enjo's predecessor Shim, conducted in collaboration with Linköping University, showed that regular conversations with the chatbot led to lower stress levels and higher mental well-being.
“A personalised digital service that is present in a patient's everyday life is key to delivering preventive care and helping our patients stay healthy.” -says Johannes Schildt.
A result of the acquisition is that Hoa Ly and John Airaksinen now join KRY where they will be running of the Self-Help product area.
Welcome onboard and we look forward to all the amazing things we will build together!
